ALUMINUM ALLOY 5182 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
What is Alloy 5182?
5182 is one of the strongest non-heat treatable aluminum alloys. It is nominally a 4.5% magnesium alloy and its strength is further increased by an addition of approximately 0.3% manganese. It is commonly used in automotive and general industrial applications where strength is important. United Aluminum can supply 5182 in a wide variety of tempers, from fully soft to extra hard, in a wide range of gauges and widths.
